Technology

Technology is an ever important integral part of modern life. TSCD’s goal is to provide technological training and improve accessibility to the community. Our Technology 101 programs aim to address the lack of tech skills within the community. We are establishing programs to provide hands-on training for senior participants, learning labs for youth participants, and workshops to provide updated technology training to educators.

Participants will be able to explore a variety of STEM-related topics, including:

Youth Technology Training

Technology in the World Around Us

  • Electric Vehicles - learning about carbon footprint, low/no emission vehicles and the technology that supports the design and manufacturing of these products.

 

  • Green/Solar Energy - learning about alternative fuel cells and their uses in our homes and the world. Includes: solar panels, wind turbines and more.

Computing

  • Coding - participants will be introduced to beginner programming languages, understanding programming logic and operations, computational mathematics, artificial intelligence prompt generation.

 

  • Engineering - learning to operate drones, and basic web/software engineering.

Community Technology Training

Senior Technology Lab

We offer a computer lab with basic computer skills training for seniors. Learn to surf the internet, perform searches, setup and check email accounts, create documents and more.

Educator Training

Teachers and other education professionals can utilize our computer lab to learn additional classroom management skills and software platforms.
